True material of knowledge is meaning
I am listening to Maria Popova of Brain Pickings talk with Krista Tippett on her On Being podcast.
Popova states that
true material of knowledge is meaning and meaning is opposite of trivial
The only thing that we glean by skimming and skipping forward is trivia
And the only way to glean knowledge is contemplation. And the road to that is time. There’s nothing else, it’s just time. There’s no shortcut to the conquest of meaning and ultimately it is meaning that we seek to give to our lives.
This is a very eloquent statement about what I am trying to accomplish with Hyperplace and the current struggle I am facing with. I need to demonstrate how putting in the time is beneficial for people and the only way to do that might be to do it myself.
