I've been designing for the web since 2000. I have an MFA in visual communication design, taught web design for many years, helped launch a design agency's web department in the early 2000s, and later started my own studio designing websites and identities for artists, designers, and photographers.
In 2014, I co-founded Paraşüt, an online book-keeping app for small businesses, and led its design for six years. It was Turkey's leading online accounting platform, serving over 10,000 customers with a team of 60 when it was acquired in 2019.
After the acquisition, I moved to Berlin with my family and began focusing on Wordmark along with the independent projects and research that I've started documenting on this site.
I try to keep a few simple practices that help carry my days forward:
Taking notes to capture ideas.
Reading in parallel for surprising connections
Carrying a camera to pause more often
Writing haikus to hold on to fleeting moments
If something on this site resonates with you,
I’d be happy to hear it from you.
Best,
Fahri
